Fixed cellular base stations are becoming a popular way to provide voice, data, and internet connectivity to remote locations not served by wired ISPs such as DSL or cable. In general, the operating expense is lower than VSAT satellite internet, and the bandwidth caps are more generous. The speed, and more importantly, the latency are similar to wired providers, allowing real-time data and lag-free telephony.

Because the station is fixed, we can provide this service in areas where signal on a cellular handset is unavailable by using a high-gain antenna. We have yagi and grid dish antennas with up to 20 dB of forward gain for all of the 3G/4G LTE bands from 700 MHz to 2.2 GHz. These antennas are, for the most part, very small, and can be mounted to a gable mount, roof mount, non-penetrating mount, or pole mount. In very low signal areas we can provide you with a guyed steel antenna tower of up to 50'/10m.

A typical base station will consist of an outdoor mounted antenna connected to a run of high performance coax, through a grounding block, to an indoor modem. The modems we use are essentially a drop-in replacement for a DSL or cable modem, and can be used with any type of router. In cases where the coax run would be too long, we have all-outdoor systems, where the modem resides in a sealed enclosure connected directly to the antenna and the feedline to the indoor equipment is ethernet. In cases where cell signal is available, but only in an area too distant from the site where it will be used, we have a variety of point-to-point microwave links.

As with all of our systems, we offer a range of equipment service levels from inexpensive consumer grade units for small office/home office setups to carrier grade systems with enterprise specific features.
